Jimbo's Game

Jimbo's Game image

Overview

Jimbo's Game is a mini-game within Dave the Diver. Junak will walk you through a basic tutorial during Jimbo's Game Craze!.

Overview

While you have to play against others, note you'll be the only one actually trying to score points: your opponent merely sets the score you need to obtain in each round as well as a special debuff they'll set in the third round. When you first start playing, you'll see a few things on the left: the top shows the minimum points you need to earn for that round, right below that, the current amount you've earned for that round, and in the bottom, you'll see a few other important numbers: * How many plays you have left for that round * How many discards you have remaining for that round * How many Jimbo Tokens you currently have * Stage you're on * Round you're currently on (there are 3 rounds per stage)

Basics

These tokens are earned by winning a round. The amount that gets paid out is based on a few things: * How many remaining plays you had left (you get a token for each play left, so you want to win in as few plays as possible) * If you had any unused tokens, interest is earned on them. You earn 1 token per 5, with a max of 5 interest allowed. This means if you have more than 25 tokens, the rest won't earn interest. * How many was set as the reward for that round (displayed under the score you need to hit) Keep in mind that tokens cannot be carried over between players, so make sure you maximize them by the last stage/round. Joker cards are what puts a twist on this card game. There are a number of different ones, with different stats that can do things such as add point values to certain cards/suits, multiply amounts, duplicate another card's stats, or other functions. Note that you can only have up to 6 Joker cards (they'll be displayed at the top). However, you can sell any back for a small amount of Jimbo Tokens if you see a later card you want. Also keep in mind that you can reorder them as you see fit between rounds. That said, like the tokens, these cannot be carried over between players. Any cards you "win" from an opponent are also not giving you an actual card to use whenever, but opens up the option for them to then appear in the mini-game's store to obtain them there to use. There are 33 Joker cards in the game, all of which are based on their equivalents from Balatro: Icon — Name — Description — Rarity — Cost — Resell — Abstract Joker — Gain a Mult of +3 for every Joker card — Common — 4 — 2 — Ancient Joker — Gain a Mult of X1.5 each time a random suit card scores.
